Me
I’m Quinn. I do data stuff, mostly— I’m an data engineer & manager at my day job. I also love art, books, woodworking, drawing, and urbanism.
I’m based in Philadelphia, and I find myself in NYC pretty often as well.
Let’s talk!
I want to talk to you! If you feel like reaching out, whether for a specific reason or just…because, I welcome it. I’ll also add some things I am actively looking to connect on or help people with:
- Data. I’m pretty active in the dbt and Meltano communities. I use Snowflake a lot and work with big data, so I do a lot of query optimization. I spend a lot of time writing documentation, too, and care about technical writing. I’m always looking to get more plugged into the community, especially since there isn’t as much in-person stuff happening nowadays.
- Mesh networks, Wi-Fi and community-owned internet. I’m involved with Philly Community Wireless and want to hear from people working on similar projects.
- Biking and bike safety activism. I bike and walk nearly everywhere and strongly believe that we need to build better cities: cities that are not just safe to walk & bike around in, but that are actually beautiful and pleasant to be in for everyone.
Book some time to chat with me here or drop me an email at this email address (this is a temporary email created with Apple’s email relay service; it will change if & when I start getting spam there).
Also… I live in Philadelphia and would love to grab a coffee or beer in real life too!
Some places I’ve spent time
- The Recurse Center, a self-directed, community-driven educational retreat for programmers. I highly recommend Recurse Center if you’re curious, independent, and do computer-y things or want to do computer-y things. It’s free to attend. Get in touch if you have questions or want to talk about it!
- Carleton College, where I got a BA in Economics. After graduating, I worked there full time for a year TA’ing sculpture classes and helping to run the wood and metal shops.
